The Branch Area Careers Center (BACC) proudly celebrates a major milestone in local healthcare education: the successful completion of the first-ever Health Professions Medical Assisting Program, Class of 2024–2025. This groundbreaking program served 16 dedicated students during its inaugural year and marks a new chapter in the advancement of career-focused healthcare training in Branch County. Fifteen of the 16 students chose to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification exam, a national credential offered through the National Healthcareer Association. With great pride, we announce that 100% of those students passed, officially earning their titles as Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs). This outstanding achievement is a testament to the students’ hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in patient care. Several of these newly certified professionals have already stepped into the healthcare workforce, providing vital services in our community. Others are preparing to work as Medical Assistants while continuing their studies in college and university healthcare programs, further enriching the field with their passion and dedication. This successful launch would not have been possible without the vision and commitment of the BACC Health Professions staff: Mrs. Cheryl Covell, RN; Mrs. Krista Wood, RN; and Mrs. Angela Marks, MA. Additionally, the program was made possible through the unwavering support of the BACC Administrative Team, including Assistant Superintendent of Career and Technical Education Mr. Dustin Scharer and BACC Principal Mr. Mike Rasmussen, whose leadership and advocacy for student success played a vital role in bringing this opportunity to life. As these graduates step into their roles in direct patient care, the community stands to benefit from their skills, compassion, and readiness to meet the ever-growing demand for healthcare professionals. Congratulations, BACC Health Professions Medical Assisting Program Class of 2025!
