Branch ISD -

Waad Maflahi is a senior at Coldwater High School (CHS). She also attends the Business Management, Marketing, and Technology program at the Branch Area Careers Center (BACC). Her On-the-Job Training (OJT) placement is with The Corner Store at BACC under the direction of Kelly Spray. Her job duties include managing inventory, assisting customers, and training BMMT students in store operations and customer service.

Her favorite part of the job is helping customers and teaching students the ins and outs of operating The Corner Store.  Waad feels that OJT has helped her strengthen her communication skills and expand her leadership and training abilities.

At BACC, Waad is a member of the student organization Business Professionals of America (BPA), where she has competed in regional and local competitions. She has also earned certifications in Generative AI Foundations, Marketing Fundamentals, Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ESB), and Professional Communication. She was recognized as Student of the Month and is also a member of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
At CHS, Waad is a member of the school’s UNICEF Club, the National Honor Society (NHS), and ASTRA, and she serves as treasurer of the Culture Club.

After graduation, Waad plans to attend Kellogg Community College (KCC) to study marketing and pursue a career in business management.

Kelly Spray says, “Waad is a great part of the team. We absolutely love her energy and personality. She has the rare ability to be both the consummate professional and someone who makes us laugh. She is doing a great job in her management position.”
