Parker Austin is a senior at Bronson High School and also attends the Automotive Technologies program at the Branch Area Careers Center. His On-the-Job (OJT) Training placement is at Frank’s Transmission, where he works as a mechanic under the direction of John Miller. His job duties include servicing trucks, performing routine maintenance on vehicles, completing brake jobs and oil changes, and learning from John how to assist with transmission repair. After high school, he plans to attend WyoTech trade school and become a diesel mechanic.
Parker’s favorite part of his OJT placement is working on the large vehicles that come into the shop. He says, “I love learning a lot of new things, like how to use specialized tools and learn about transmissions.”
In his spare time, Parker enjoys restoring his 1992 GMC Sierra truck.
John Miller says, “I’m impressed with Parker's work ethic. He shows up for work early and is always eager to help with anything around the shop. He never complains and is very conscientious about his work. He is not afraid to ask the right questions and jump right in. Parker is a very fine young man.”
Parker is the son of Brian and Millissa Miller.
