Trent Mace is a senior at Bronson High School and also attends the Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) program at the Branch Area Careers Center. His On-the-Job (OJT) Training placement is at S and R Products, where he works as a machinist under the direction of Scott Kubasiak. His job duties include setting up Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, machining material, performing Numerical Control (NC) grinding, and checking tolerances. After high school, he plans to attend a trade school to further develop his machining skills.
Trent’s favorite part of his OJT placement is creating precision parts from raw materials. He says, “I like that it is a unique skill that not many people know how to do.”
Scott says “Trent is a quick learner and is enthusiastic about building his future career. He is growing into his position, and we are happy to have him.”
