23-24 Make a Difference Award Winners

The Branch County Parent Advisory Committee is thrilled to announce the winners of the 23-24 Make a Difference Awards, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the lives of children with disabilities in our community.

This year, The PAC received almost 90 nominations from across Branch County, highlighting the incredible impact our educators, school staff, community members, and volunteers have on the lives of our students. After careful consideration, the following individuals have been selected as this year's winners:

  • Nolan Kopkowski (Special Ed Teacher of the Year)

  • Darren Skirka (General Education Teacher of the Year)

  • Shawna Craig (Community Member of the Year #1)

  • Jennifer Searls (Secondary Administrator of the Year)

  • Julie Farmer (Elementary Administrator of the Year)

  • Valencia Barret (Support Person of the Year)

  • Emma Hayward (Itinerant Person of the Year)

  • Juli Westgate (Community Member of the Year #2)

  • Dominique Prater (Volunteer of the Year)

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of the winners for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with disabilities. Your efforts are truly commendable and greatly appreciated.

To celebrate and honor our winners, the Make A Difference Awards Ceremony will take place at the Branch Area Career Center on Wednesday, April 24th, starting at 6 pm. We encourage all staff members to attend and show their support for our outstanding colleagues.
