Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement I Introduction to Criminal Justice analyzes the processes, institutions and administration of justice in the United States. Students will learn the basics on how the laws are made (Legislative process, precedent, Constitutional Amendments); how the laws are enforced (police work, CSI, SWAT, Narcotics enforcement, FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security); and what we do with people after the laws are enforced (Judicial Process, arrest, Correctional process, diversion, parole, probation, juvenile justice and others.) probation and parole, and introduces the student to the juvenile justice process. Special attention to contemporary issues and trends in the administration of justice and the Michigan justice structure will be emphasized. Note: Entry into this program is by application ONLY!
